Deputy Commander Integrated Area Defence System (DCIADS)

DCIADS is responsible for supporting CIADS in their command of HQIADS and, if assigned by the FPDA member-nations, participating in the coordinated defence of Malaysia and Singapore.

DCIADS’ peacetime responsibilities are to:

(a) Be responsible to CIADS for the operational, plans, and staff functions including staff training;

(b) Be responsible as the link to MINDEF Malaysia, MAF and other Government Organisations ;

(c) Represent HQIADS at FPG, and as the delegate for CIADS as required for FCC, FDCC and FDMM;

(d) Represent HQIADS for relevant domestic and international visits, ceremonial occasions and events.

Brigadier General Rozainy bin Ahmad Rapiee@Ahmad Rofie TUDM was born on 10 December 1970. Joining the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) in 1989, he was commissioned in 1990 as a flying officer, marking the beginning of an illustrious career that later then make him rise through the ranks as a distinguish fighter pilot and a visionary leader. He started his career as a fighter pilot in Basic Flying Course and then was selected to undertake the Fighter Aircraft Conversion Course. Throughout his service in the RMAF, he has extensive experience flying fighter aircraft such as the Aermacchi MB339, Hawk 108/208 as well as the Su30MKM. He is also a Qualified Flying Instructor for MD 3, PC 7 and Hawk 108/208.

Prior to his present post as the Director General of Operation and Exercise MTU-BOS, Brigadier General Rozainy RMAF has held several positions throughout his career. He has shown his unwavering dedication as Chief of Staff lead the Air Region 2 Headquarters with vision, integrity and commitment in ensuring the highest standards of service and operational effectiveness. On the operational side, Brigadier General Rozainy RMAF had held the position of Commanding Officer and lead the No 6 and 11 Squadron, later then has been appointed as the Base Commander of Gong Kedak and Butterworth Airbase. He was later carried forward his commitment to the service and has been selected as the Commandant of the Malaysian Armed Forces Cadet Wing.

Brigadier General Rozainy RMAF has also attended several courses among those are the Malaysian Armed Forces Staff College, Air War College at Air University Maxwell Airforce Base, Montgomery, Alabama and National Resilience College at Puspahanas, Putrajaya or the National Center of Defense Studies. Despite his demanding career, Brigadier General Rozainy RMAF remains a devoted family man. He is married to Rosniza binti Md Yusoff and the proud father of three children, whom he considers his greater source of his inspiration. In his free time, he plays golf two or three times a week, finding both relaxation and strategic challenge in the game. Additionally, he enjoys cycling once or twice a week, embracing it as a way to stay fit and refresh his mind.

With the contribution of devotion and loyalty given to the Service and the country, Brigadier General Rozainy RMAF was awarded several awards by the Malaysian Armed Forces and the Government of Malaysia. He had been awarded with the honorary wing by the Indonesian Airforce for his dedication and contribution towards the bilateral engagement of the two air forces of Malaysia and Indonesia. He had also served under the NATO flag in Bosnia Herzegovina as the forward air controller during the peacekeeping operation. His legacy is defined not only by his combat achievements and command leadership but also by his dedication to mentoring the next generation of air force leader. His commitment to excellence, strategic foresight and steadfast service have left an enduring impact to the Air Force and the defense if his nation.
