Malaysian Armed Forces Defence College Visits HQIADS to Strengthen Professional Cooperation

Headquarters Integrated Area Defence System (HQIADS) recently welcomed a delegation from the Malaysian Armed Forces Defence College (MAFDC) for a professional visit aimed at fostering closer cooperation and enhancing mutual understanding of the Headquarters' role within the Five Power Defence Arrangements (FPDA).

The visit commenced with a welcome address, followed by an HQIADS Introduction Brief and an FPDA Brief, which provided the delegation with an overview of the Headquarters' mission, roles, and responsibilities in supporting the FPDA. The delegation gained valuable insights into HQIADS' contribution to integrated air defence, multinational operational planning, and the coordination of major FPDA exercises, highlighting its commitment to maintaining regional peace, security, and interoperability among the five member nations.

The programme continued with a Future Brief, outlining HQIADS' ongoing capability development initiatives and future direction in adapting to an increasingly dynamic security environment. This was followed by a Cyber Brief, which highlighted the importance of cyber capabilities and resilience in supporting modern military operations and safeguarding information systems within a multinational operational framework.

Throughout the visit, both organisations engaged in constructive discussions and exchanged perspectives on regional security, operational concepts, and the evolving defence landscape. The visit also provided a valuable platform for professional dialogue, knowledge sharing, and the exchange of best practices, further strengthening institutional ties between HQIADS and the Malaysian Armed Forces Defence College.
