DCIADS’ Handover Ceremony
Headquarters Integrated Area Defence System (HQIADS) welcomed its new Deputy Commander Integrated Area Defence System (DCIADS) today, as Brigadier General (BG) Amer Mahmud bin Abdul Rahman officially handed over command to BG Rozainy bin Ahmad Rapiee in a ceremonial event held at HQIADS, Butterworth Air Base.
BG Rozainy joined the Royal Malaysian Air Force in 1989 and was commissioned as a Flying Officer in 1990. His distinguished career as a fighter pilot and military leader has seen him rise steadily through the ranks. Prior to his new appointment, BG Rozainy served as the Director General of Operations and Exercises at the Malaysian Armed Forces Headquarters (MTU-BOS).
A leader known for his vision, integrity, and dedication, BG Rozainy previously served as Chief of Staff at the Air Region 2 Headquarters. His commitment to excellence was evident throughout his tenure, where he played a pivotal role in ensuring operational readiness and effectiveness.
His leadership roles have included Commanding Officer of both No. 6 and No. 11 Squadrons, and appointments as Base Commander at RMAF Gong Kedak and Butterworth Air Base.
Outgoing DCIADS, BG Amer Mahmud, who has led HQIADS since March 2022, was commended for his outstanding leadership. During his tenure, HQIADS maintained a high level of operational readiness, broadened its capabilities, and enhanced interoperability with regional and international agencies.
